Can I customize what I want to eat for the week?
To an extent. To keep prices reasonable and dishes varied, our weekly menus are created based on the availability of local fresh ingredients and their seasonality. You can select between our delicious set meal plans that cater for various dietary needs and goals, and choose additional options from the A La Carte menu. You can also let us know of any allergies and preferences, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
How do I add my allergies to my order?
After choosing your meal plan in step 1 of the ordering process, you are able to make certain customizations in step 2. On that step 2 page, simply scroll to ‘advanced options’ and list your allergies in the special requests box.
Do you offer bi-weekly subscriptions?
Our standard delivery is weekly, but we can adjust your delivery to follow a bi-weekly schedule if you give us a call at (888) 420-4080.
Can I order only for the days I want?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer the option to order meals for specific days. As our meals are scratch-made, we deliver for a full week, but you’re more than welcome to enjoy them whenever you like!
What if I only want lunch?
To order just lunch meals for the week, you can choose your desired plan and then deselect the ‘breakfast’ and ‘dinner’ options during step 2 of the order process.
How do I order a one-time/single delivery?
When you order a meal plan, please note that you are signing up for weekly deliveries and charges. However, if you want a one-time delivery, you can call us at (888) 420-4080 at the time of order and we can schedule a cancelation to your subscription after the first week of delivery.
As a subscriber, how do I skip a week of meals or change my meal plan?
Give us a call at (888) 420-4080 or email us at email@example.com . Please note that we need to be notified of order changes and/or pausing by Sunday (12:00 pm PST) for the upcoming week’s Saturday delivery.
How does A La Carte Work?
If you don’t want to join a subscription, you can check out our A La Carte menu for one-time, standalone orders. We offer various breakfasts/snacks, bulk meal items & sides, and a limited number of entrees. Please note that all A La Carte items are based on availability and a $85 minimum order.
How many people does each meal feed?
Each meal is designed to serve one individual, but feel free to share with your friends and family!
Do you have a children’s menu?
We do not currently have a menu specifically for children. However, our meals are open to all ages and many families enjoy our plans. When ordering, please be cautious about any allergies your child may have.
Can I include additional snacks and sides in my delivery?
Yes. In step 2 of the order process, there is a section at the bottom labeled ‘additional meals or snacks’ where you can easily add any extras to your order.
How do I purchase an e-gift card? How does it work?
- Click ‘view plans’ on the top right of the home-page. At the bottom of the next page, you’ll find a link that says ‘gift cards’. Add the gift card(s) to your cart.
- During the checkout process, you send the gift card directly to the recipient by entering their email address, or to your own email address (giving you the freedom to forward the gift card to the recipient whenever you like).
- Once purchased, the gift card credit does not expire and can be redeemed towards meal plans and/or A La Carte orders through a phone call or email.
Where can I leave feedback on the meals I’ve received?
Send us a message through our contact page, or drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I cancel my Fresh n’ Lean Subscription?
You can call customer service at (888) 420-4080, visit our contact page, or drop us an email at email@example.com. Give us a call at (888) 420-4080. How do I know when my delivery is on the way?
Your meals will be shipped via GLS or FedEx Air service and a tracking number will be automatically emailed to you. You may check up on your meal delivery progress anytime. GLS has until the end of the day Friday to deliver. Guaranteed by Saturday. There is a ‘shipper release’ on all of our packages, so if you are not home at the time of delivery, the box will be left on your doorstep.
Does someone need to be present to receive the delivery?
Nope. The ‘shipper release’ means if you are not home at the time of delivery, the box will be left on your doorstep. If you have any special instructions for GLS to access your delivery address, please be sure to include them in the ‘special instructions’ box on the order page. Whilst we have high-quality control standards during the preparation and packaging of our meals, we have no control over GLS or FedEx operations.
What do I do after receiving my delivery?
Upon receiving your delivery, refrigerate your meals packs as soon as possible. You can freeze the meals, however, we recommend eating them fresh. If you do decide to freeze, letting your food thaw in your refrigerator for 36-48 hours before eating yields the best results.
I travel a lot - can I hold my order or change the delivery address to a hotel?
Yes, no problem! Because our containers are vacuum sealed, our dishes are great to travel with. If you need to change your delivery address, just give us a call. Please note, for a change of address we do need to be notified by Sunday (12:00 pm PT) for that Saturday’s delivery. This applies if you either want to suspend or receive your box at a different location. When you do suspend for a period, just let us know when you would like us to resume your deliveries.
How do I cancel a delivery?
You have no obligation to continue service past any given delivery, however, we do have cancellation deadline as all of our meals are made fresh to order. If you are a weekly meal plan subscriber, you must request a meal plan cancellation, or we will keep delivering meals to you.
Call us at on (888) 420-4080 for cancellations or modifications by Sunday 12:00 pm (PST) to cancel the next scheduled delivery.
If you order A La Carte and wish to cancel your order, you must do within 2 hours of placing your order as A La Carte products often ship right away.
When will I be billed?
Fresh n’ Lean is a reoccurring week-to-week service with no long-term commitment beyond your first delivery. You will be billed automatically every week until you cancel or place the service on hold. Our hold/cancellation deadline is Sunday 12:00 pm PST, and can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling (888) 420-4080.
Can I view my order online?
We do not currently offer that option on the Fresh n’ Lean site, but a confirmation of your order will be emailed to you right away after placing an order.
How much time do I have before delivery to adjust or cancel my order?
We make our meals completely from scratch each week and do our best to accommodate your needs. Order modification and cancellation requests must be placed by Sunday, 12:00 pm PST to be applied to the following week’s (Saturday) delivery. Requests made after that deadline will be applied to the following week’s delivery.
Will I get a refund if I'm not satisfied with my order?
Refunds are not guaranteed and are based on a case-by-case basis. Give us a call if you are not satisfied and we will do our best to accommodate you!
What do I do when I receive my meals?
Upon receiving your delivery, refrigerate your meals packs as soon as possible. You can freeze the meals if you like, but for optimum taste, we recommend eating them fresh. If you do decide to freeze your meals, letting them thaw in your refrigerator for 36-48 hours prior to eating typically yields the best results.
Do my meals require any preparation before I can eat them?
Our goal is to take the hassle out of healthy eating, so all you have to do is heat and eat. After peeling off the label, simply puncture a few holes on the plastic film, and microwave your meal for 2-3 minutes. You can also reheat your food on the stove or in the oven if you prefer.
Do I have to add any extra ingredients to my meals?
Everything we make is all-inclusive except for the breakfast granola, for which we suggest adding fresh fruit, and/or organic, unsweetened plant-based milk (almond, soy, rice, hemp, oat etc). However, you’re more than welcome to add any additional ingredients/seasonings to customize any meal!
How do the meals stay fresh during shipping?
We keep your food fresh during shipping by keeping them in vacuum-sealed, insulated and refrigerated boxes.
How long will my food stay fresh?
Thanks to our vacuumed sealed trays, meals typically stay fresh up to 7-10 days post delivery, once stored in the refrigerator. You can extend the shelf life 6-8 weeks if stored in the freezer.
How are the meals packaged?
Our meals are vacuum-sealed in BPA-free, recyclable trays. The plastic seals are also recyclable. The trays are delivered in insulated cardboard boxes with ice packs to keep them at safe temperatures.
What should I do with my box after my delivery?
Sustainability is something we’re passionate about, so we’d love it if you could recycle our packaging after use! The box is cardboard and can be recycled along with the plastic trays and seal. Our ice packs are water-soluble – they can be cut open and poured into a sink, and the plastic casing can be recycled. The styrofoam padding is recyclable depending on your location.
Where can I find nutritional information about your meals?
Each and every meal label contains nutrition facts and ingredients on the back side.
What kind of ingredients do you use?
We source locally-grown, organic, whole-food, nutrient-dense ingredients. Everything is gluten and GMO free, while a majority of our meals are also dairy, and soy-free. In our plans containing animal products, you’ll find grass-fed meat, free-range poultry, and sustainable fish – all antibiotic and hormone-free.
The compassionate treatment and welfare of farmed animals are very important to us at Fresh n’ Lean. We partner with suppliers who are equally committed to ensuring farm animals have a humane life. That is why we are committing to source all of our eggs with a certification recognized by the ASPCA® Shop With Your Heart program by 2021.
Do you use processed foods or artificial ingredients?
We never use processed or artificial ingredients, and everything is non-GMO.
How are the meals prepared? Is anything fried?
Every meal is made from scratch, just like you would prepare in your own home (only in much larger portions). None of our food is fried – our professional chefs typically bake or steam ingredients to maximize nutrient availability (and taste).
Do I need to take any supplements?
Our meals provide a wide variety of nutrients and are dietician-approved, but you may still need to supplement or eat additional food in order to reach the nutrient daily recommendations. We recommend adding our almonds and sesame chips (on our A La Carte menu) to your meal plan to cover most of those nutrients.
If you are on a plant-based meal plan, we recommend taking Omega 3’s DHA & EPA, Vitamin B12, Iodine, and Vitamin D to cover common deficiencies seen on a vegan diet. For women on all meal plans, an iron supplement may also be helpful (depending on what else you choose to eat).
What is the nutritional breakdown of your food?
The macronutrient breakdown varies between plans and individual meals, however, you can always count on getting a variety of whole foods. We use ingredients that are nutrient-dense and fiber-rich, nourishing your body and helping you feel fuller for longer. That means plenty of vegetables, and then a range of whole grains, pulses, and lean animal protein (depending on which plan you select).
I’m very active - will I get enough protein?
Our meal plans are designed to provide enough protein for the average individual. However, if you are very active, we recommend the Protein + plan which provides higher amounts of lean animal protein and energizing complex-carbs. Regardless of your meal plan choice, if you want to add additional protein or sides, you can always visit our A La Carte menu to fit your needs.
Will your meals help me lose weight?
Weight loss is not guaranteed with our plans, but many of our customers report great results. Since our meals are fiber-rich and nutritious, they help you feel fuller for longer and can potentially reduce the urge to snack – great news for anyone attempting to lose weight.
What if I'm still hungry?
If you’re still hungry after eating one of our meals, we recommend eating a side salad, a piece of fruit, or one of our snacks. We offer delicious almonds and sesame chips on our A La Carte menu, as well as a variety of vegetable, whole grain, and lean meat sides.
Are your meals low sodium?
Most of our meals could be considered low sodium (140 mg of sodium or less per 100 g of the meal), but certain meals may contain more. Eating three meals a day from any of our meal plans provides less than 2,300 mg of sodium a day. The general recommendation for American’s on a 2,000 calorie diet is no more than 2,300 mg sodium/day.
Do you use any refined sugars?
We avoid using overly processed sugars in our meals, but sometimes add small amounts of unrefined sweeteners (such as maple syrup) to breakfasts and sauces.
Are your meals paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan?
All of our meals are gluten-free. Two of our meal plans (Vegan, Vegan low-carb) are fully vegan, and our Paleo and Protein+ plans are also dairy-free. The only exception to the dairy-free rule is the Keto plan, which is a dairy friendly diet, focusing on low carbs and high fats.
