Laureen Asseo founded Fresh n’ Lean at 18 years old from the kitchen of her one-bedroom apartment. Her father had been facing serious health problems after years of overindulging in processed American foods, and she was desperate to help him reverse the damage. Her plan: make eating well a no-brainer for people who lack the time or desire to prepare tasty meals. Today, Fresh n’ Lean is the #1 meal delivery service for fresh, ready to eat, gluten-free, organic meals. Laureen has an obsession with delivering good nutrition to as many people as possible. She loves to help people with their health, weight loss and convenience goals, because she has seen firsthand how transformative it can be simply to consistently eat well. Laureen has a huge love for all animals and owns horses and a dog named Leo, who comes to work with her every day.
Thomas Asseo would be a pro race car driver if he weren’t a nutrition company co-CEO. After moving to the U.S. from his native Paris at 9 years old, he rose to the top of the auto racing ladder system. In his late 20s, he was asked to serve as the right-hand man to an entrepreneur starting a new venture. That experience offered a crash course about the realities of growing a successful business. When his sister Laureen was motivated to start Fresh n’ Lean, Thomas’ role as co-CEO was a no-brainer. Thomas loves making healthy eating simple for people who may lack the time or desire to prepare meals that help the body unlock peak performance. He still enjoys riding his Yamaha R1 around race tracks, and he’s starting to dabble in amateur racing. He’s always on the go -- whether it’s racing, doing yoga or hitting a CrossFit gym.
While working at McDonald’s as a teenager, Chef Robert Gomez made a life-changing discovery. Rather than finding fast food work to be numbing or repetitive, as his coworkers did, Chef Robert realized how much he loved feeding people, and he learned how exciting it is to work in a kitchen. This inspired him to earn a culinary degree and embark on a career that has included stints in the most exclusive hotels in the world. After working for The Beverly Hills Hotel, The Bel-Air Hotel, The Fairmont Newport Beach and more, Chef Robert joined Fresh n’ Lean. For the past 3 years, he has shared his world-class experience while being inspired by Fresh n’ Lean’s nutrition-driven mission. When he’s not at work, you can find him golfing, camping, riding motorcycles or learning -- his greatest fear is not knowing everything before he dies.
